One billion configurations with Permobil's new TiLite wheelchairs

Nashville, TN – Today, Permobil is launching two new aluminum ultra-lightweight manual wheelchairs, the TiLite X and TiLite Z, featuring best-in-class performance, over 1 billion possible configurations, and 5-day lead times.

With a tremendous focus on end user and customer insights, we have improved functionality, simplicity, weight, weight capacity and lead times – all while keeping our industry-best configurability and durability. The TiLite X is the new folding frame design, while the TiLite Z is the new rigid mono-tube frame. With innovative manufacturing technology, the TiLite X and TiLite Z offer TiLite’s fastest turnaround time, from order to delivery, while also maintaining the unrivaled durability and customizability TiLite manual wheelchairs are known for.  

“Our goal with the TiLite X and Z was to deliver the quality, performance, durability, and customizability of TiLite chairs to as many people as possible,” said Cody Verrett, VP and general manager of Permobil Americas. “We are proud to say we have delivered on that and are excited to expand TiLite to more users.”

Both the TiLite X and TiLite Z have built-in adjustability for seat-to-floor height, camber, seat-to-footrest height, backrest angle, center of gravity, and more, as needed. The TiLite X features a single-piece side frame and re-designed cross brace for increased durability and strength. Additionally, the TiFit measurement system for the TiLite Z will ensure users receive a chair that fits their exact body size and shape.  

Performance features on the TiLite X and TiLite Z, such as composite soft-roll casters, adjustable tension by strap seat and back upholstery, and aluminum push/pull wheel locks, are a standard offering with every chair. Permobil has introduced a new two-point T-style armrest, which allows for easy adjustability and can be set-up as flip-back or removable configurations.

Both chairs are designed to go wherever life takes you, with a reduced transport weight of just 12.1 pounds on the TiLite X and 11.3 pounds on the TiLite Z, making them amongst the lightest chairs in the world within their respective market segments.

New Permobil Store: real-time visualization and online ordering

Along with the new wheelchairs, Permobil is launching the Permobil Store, a new web-based system that allows customers to configure, quote and order the TiLite X and Z, as well as a real-time visualizer to see how each selection impacts the final look, dimensions, price, and lead time of the products. The Permobil Store automatically guides the customer through the configuration process and has more features that help make the chair ordering process more efficient for providers.

With this new visualization tool, customers will also be able to see how their new chair will look in our new colors -- Black Galaxy, Silver Streak, Blue Mist, Lavender Dusk, Pomegranate Red, and Indigo Purple --- all selected by end-users.
